Mark is currently the Director of Media Production at Gate6 Digital Agency. With more than a decade of experience in commercial art, web and graphic design, and video production, his unique sensibility in creative production is instantly recognizable.
From his earliest days in artistic endeavors—beginning at age 3 with a first place entry in a local merchant’s advertising contest—the fine arts have been a central influence in Mark’s work. His award-winning high school art, graphic design, and multimedia projects laid the foundation for his interest in digital media and marketing.
At Grand Canyon University, Mark received his B.A. in graphic design and graduated with honors.
In his early career, Mark launched out into web design and development, filling a crucial need among businesses and nonprofits in the emerging web of the early 2000s. His creative consulting work would eventually expand to include print design and direct mail, theater advertising, publications, logo design, and video projects.
In early 2007 Mark joined the staff at Phoenix First as Art Director, where he redefined the branding and marketing of one of the largest churches in the US. While simultaneously improving infrastructure in content management and ROI in marketing, his work at Phoenix First received critical acclaim both internally and nationally for its achievements and quality.
As Art Director at Phoenix First, he developed a tightly-integrated online marketing, publications, and social media strategy while setting a new standard for quality in the organization’s web, print and video productions.
Mark brought the same sensibilities to his role as Principal of Take Flight Creative in the next generation of online marketing and creative productions.
From high-impact motion graphics to web development, large-format display design to direct mail campaigns, and social media strategy to UX design, Mark’s broad experience and passionate focus on excellence produced client-pleasing results.
Most recently, Mark joined the creative team at Gate6, a full-service digital agency with killer ideas and brilliant execution. There, his role quickly evolved into the Director of Media Production, overseeing creative productions including commercials, branded content, event filming, motion graphics and animation.
Mark and his team have produced a collection of award-winning video and animated productions, receiving 11 Telly Awards, multiple W3 Awards including Best in Show, several AMA Spectrum Awards including the People’s Choice Award, and top honors from the Communicator Awards, Creativity International Awards, Hermes Creative Awards, and AZIMA. Mark has been specifically recognized for his film direction, use of 2D and 3D animation, and art direction. He is also a professional member of the Silver Telly Council, AMA, and AIGA.
Combined with his experience in web, social, and online marketing, Mark’s fresh ideas are taking video production to new heights.
Mark is a published writer, photographer, and illustrator. He has guest lectured at national conferences as well as Grand Canyon University, and has conducted workshops on topics ranging from web design and online media, video production, and social causes.
